Took a friend who wanted to "check out this whole summer skiing thing" to The Mountain. I was hoping to get to about 12K on Emmons, reality struck my buddy at about 8k on Interglacier. He napped I took a quick lap to Curtis to check out the view. Skiing was marginal, as others have attested its not worth the climb to ski the Interglacier unless also going for Emmons. But marginal skiing is better than not skiing at all. Started skinning at about 6K or so, snow was very suncupped, almost like skiing minature bumps! Hung out, watched the high pressure slowly open up the upper mountain. Saw a marmot. Who could ask for more?
Sorry no pics, waiting to buy a good camera. Any suggestions?

enjoy.

Just got a Canon G10, 14 megapixels, wide angle, 5X optical zoom, compact, all for $400, can't beat that IMO.

I use a Pentax Optio W60 when skiing, because I want to to able to shoot photos without inconveniencing my partners and I don't ever want to worry about waterproofness.
