The Paradise glacier is still in good shape, and saw little traffic (just me) last sunny Saturday. The very top (the triangle wrapping around Anvil in the photo) is rocky at entrance and very suncupped, but smooths out above rock outcrop and the Cowlitz bergschrund. The area below the bergschrund is a little choppy but OK, and the rolls further down are in good shape. If you exit skier right of rock rib at bottom of glacier (easy to see on way up), you do not have to take off skis until Mazama ridge (otherwise a short walk).
In Edith basin, the snow has pulled away from the trail, but once back on snow, one can ski to the Paradise River bridge, close to the parking lot. The Paradise glacier has several open crevasses (some with old ski tracks across), and I recommend ascending the route, if you are going to ski it.

Kenhard ,
thanks for starting your posting career. We skied it on sunday after sneaking up through the clouds. For the crevasse wary there are lots of easy turns. that's good advice to do it from the bottom up . You might have noticed we updated Gary Vogts report of paradsie gl. of july 10th.

Returned to Paradise glacier 7-16-09. Entrance off Anvil, is thin (picture). Snow above rock outcrop is pretty choppy, but quite nice below. Lots of goats on hike out. The ski in Edith Creek basin is discontinuous, and annoying.
