I took a quick trip up to Mt Hood Meadows to see if there was any snow left in lower Heather Canyon. It had been a few weeks since I had last skied there. I parked at the main base area and hiked up under Mt Hood Express, then crossed over to the top of Shooting Star. Below A-Zone the canyon is about 75% melted out, but there are still some lines that have snow all the way from the ridge to the bottom of the canyon. The snow was great, perfect dirty corn with only minor sun cups. I did 4 laps then called it a day.
Cool - must be nice to get in that area without all the crowds. I would have thought that would be all melted out by now - looks like it holds the snow pretty well in the canyon...
NICE--way to find the loads!!!!!!!! Looks great!!
