Video trip report (click on link to go to youtube video)
Birthday Tour video trip report

Map attached.  I made this a few years ago.  It has some of the common variants on the B-D tour and notes on hazards/times etc.

May 24, 2009 trip:
7am depart Blue Lake trailhead (started booting about half way since it was so firm)
9am top of the col (no cornice this year)
9:30 descend Madison Ave (perfect corn)
11:30 at the notch (climbers right notch) below Copper Peak (firm snow on ascent; we booted)
12:00 on descent from the notch, hit a patch of deep mush on east facing slope (only mush of the day)
12:00 traversed over and descended slope just below Kangaroo Pass (perfect corn)
12:30 back at the hairpin and caught a lift with other skiers.

About 6 cars at the trailhead at 7am.  About 30 when we got back to the trailhead around 12:45pm.

Beautiful day, clear skies, good corn, good camaraderie.  What more can you ask for?

Thanks, Keith.  I was trying to capture what it is like to be there and so used just the natural sounds.  The views on that tour are so incredible.  The fantastic weather helped!
