We hit Yakima peak on Saturday, and had a blast in the sun. We started up around 9:30, and were down by 12:30. The snow was 2-8 inches of softness by my estimation, and actually turned not too bad. It's not corn, but it seems like conditions have improved from reports earlier in the week.
We skied the northeast chute from the summit saddle, and cut/sent a decent part of the cornice down ahead of us. We didn't start anything with that, so we proceeded to enjoy the chute.
Check out how melted out the south facing aspects just east of the pass are. The view looks quite different than Lowell's pictures from his time with Stimbuck and crew.
