After reading through the recent posts I believe skiing was far safer in the Selkirks than in the Cascades last week. We put in 40K vf over 7 days in the Battle Range based from the CMH backcountry hut, Battle Abbey. Third time (third successive year) was the charm as we skied Steepness (twice), Little Ahab, Typhee, S Schooner, Burnt Trees (twice), Blue Danube (twice), and to top it off, Roger's (Laurilla's) Suicide Run. Last year we were afraid to go near any of these runs. Excellent time with guides Tom Raudaschl and Robson Gmoser (his father, Hans, is the founder of Canadian heli-skiing) and a killer cook, Eileen McKie.
How about Bernard's Boulders??

Snowpack too thin for Bernard's Boulders.
As it was I was stopped very suddenly by a buried rock on lower Steepness. Put a ski tip to my forehead. A little bloody.
