Heading east of the crest and out of the storm clouds, the trio (Chris, Drew, and Cory) harvested the ripe Teanaway corn under the April sun.

Shifting the Subaru into €œBaja Mode€, we plowed through a few deep snow patches on the Teanaway Road, stopping just short of Stafford Creek.  Several large and long snow patches block car travel near the Stafford Creek bridge (the Teanaway Road is mostly snow free for about a mile beyond the Stafford Creek blockage, then mostly snow-bound).

After a few miles of hiking, we switched to skinning on the Beverly Creek road at about 3,100-ft (a few bare patches crossed on the road).  Continuous skinning from the Beverly Creek trailhead and up Bean Creek to where our route steepened and we switched to bootpacking for the final stretch to the ~6,700-ft knob.

Upon arrival at the knob we were greeted by a snow squall.  A short while later, the sky cleared again just in time for a great corn-harvest for ~2,000 vertical feet down spectacular southerly aspects, into a narrow drainage where some €œdry crossings€ (bare spots in the snow coverage) were negotiated.  Cool temperatures and light-to-moderate winds seemed to have kept the snow from over-softening on the solar aspects skied today.

Northerly aspects above about 5,000-ft stayed quite firm during the day, with rounded snow crystals beneath the surface crust seemingly less consolidated compared to nearby east and south aspects.  A couple spots of our skin track had melted out to bare ground below about 4,300 feet near Bean Creek during the day.

Able to ski-slog back down the Teanaway Road (with several €œportages") to within about a mile of Stafford Creek.  Arrived back at the car after covering about 14 miles round-trip and ~4,500-ft elevation gain on a fine day in the Teanaway.  (More photos to follow later).

Thanks for the pics and update on road/ski conditions.  Looks like some sweet corn up there!

Due to an injury it will be a 1-2 more weeks to b/c ski but that means the roads will be more snow free for easier access!  ;)

Nice pictures, Chris!  Beats working, eh?
