We managed to do this trip in 2 1/2 days - leaving Friday afternoon arrived in Whistler by dinner time and spent night in B&B.  After 7 AM breakfast, drove the remaining 1 1/2 hours to trailhead and were to Keith's cabin (5800 ft.) by lunch.  We happily found spaces for our sleeping bags, ate lunch, and proceeded to follow some Canadians up to "the col" (between Mt. Matier and Vantage Peak).  Skiing was generally good and deep (north facing slopes), occasional light crust but the T2's had little problem with it.  Though the week before had been sunny and warm, there was little evidence of this at these elevations.  We then headed up toward Vantage (west facing) which had a bit more crust but still no problem, then back to the hut for dinner and libations.

One of us had a bit too much of the libations and thus just two of us did the morning ski - this time to the west of "the col" which again was most pleasant. Then back for lunch, pack and head back down to the car with a few nice turns along the way.

The weather was a mixture of clouds, wind, occasional snow and sunshine - at times worrisome but in the end delightful.  Returned to Seattle by around 9 PM Sunday evening after dinner in Bellingham (use Lyndon border crossing).
There is some great skiing off of the Duffy Lake road.  Was the hut comfortable?  Last time I was there the stove was in sad shape and the hut was a bit tired and worn.  Great skiing aroung there however with some big terrain.

Gregg

The hut was fine.  Stove worked OK.
