Animal and I had an interesting 2-day trip.  Check Seabury Blair's guidebook or a map of the area to fill in the details.  Got lots of great pix, but I'm too much of a Luddite to post them.  Any tips on how to register for a web photo-posting service would be appreciated.

          LIMERICKS OF MASS OBSTRUCTION

I went to Obstruction with Kevin
To try and lay eights and elevens.
     The forecast said snow,
But we still had to go
To find a small portion of heaven.

On the way to the old A-frame cabin
We met Jan and Gary for gabbin'.
     Then after a swelter
     We got to the shelter
Dumped our gear and went off for turn-grabbin'.

From the tippy-top of Eagle Point
We both yelled, "Let's carve up the whole joint!"
     Slopes past forty degrees
     Made us smile and say "Cheese";
Just one picture could show you the point.

The shelter was chilly and crude.
We changed to dry clothes and cooked food.
     An evening of boasts
     With occasional toasts
Led to 9:15's "Hey, goodnight Dude."

Sunday in six inches of pow
We returned to the road and said, "Wow!"
One last lap in the gale
     -and my car didn't fail-
Back in time for an Easter meal now.

Nice work, good to see you all are out there getting some.

Your PWC mate, Jon,myself and our sons spent the Easter'91 weekend in that A frame. I have some warm memories of our stay there. No digital photos to share as I was shooting slides in those days.

With such talented poetry, who needs pictures?  ;) We enjoyed meeting you and Kevin on the road. It was hard for us not to drop in off of Eagle Pt earlier that day, but time constraints did not give us that option. We will be back another day to sample the goods. Glad your trip out on Sunday went OK, the weather up their looked tough.

Gary and Jan

The snow conditions off Eagle were pretty rough:  steep and we could have slid a long way if we biffed.  Then we actually had to bootpack and scramble out of the NE basin since it was way too steep to skin.

:D

Mack!

What an awesome trip, and I enjoyed using my whipit on the steep slope when I did my fourth face plant of the day.  Just remember Free the Heel, Free the Mind, Free the Soul, ans when in doubt of your skills, Plant the Face!

Awesome!
