i didn't want to go back to the same spot.. but the avy report didn't make us feel good, so we returned to the trees on the kendall ridge. the wind had blown and deposited a lot of new snow on the ridge itself and it looked very different. we had lunch in the sun on the south east side. dug a pit at about 5,000 ft and did an extended column test that didn't get much action. the top foot just broke up unconsolidated. the wind on the ridge was whipping and we skied the northwest slopes. the turns were once again amazing.
i always have my camera - photos and video here - http://coachingendurance.com/blog/2009/03/kendall-trees-redux.shtml
