since the storm was supposed to be raging all day the avy report was high above 4,000 ft. so we headed for the kendall trees. however the storm was late so the avy danger wasn't bad. shovel sheer at 5,000 ft on a northwest slope showed STM Q2 at about a foot down, 2 inches or so above that wicked crust and facet.
below 4,200 feet it was pretty crusty. above 4,200 ft was amazing.
