After the high freezing levels yesterday, we figured it would be important to start higher for the beautiful blue sky day, so we drove to Kuhtai ski area at 2000m and headed up through the area toward Pirchkoegel.  Some of our group were uncomfortable with one traverse we would have to make across a wind loaded convex slope, so we bailed to a nearby col.  Steven carved some excellent tele turns to celebrate his birthday, and I got a great face shot when my skis gummed up with snow on the downhill run.  Lower down we found very nice sunbaked powder.

Post tour refreshments were excellent as usual, and Steven celebrated with sacher tort and schnapsel.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!  Is this in Austria or Italy (I'm guessing Austria...)?

I continue to believe you didn't actually ski, just took a few nice shots and then went in to eat!  ;)

Way to represent for the Northwest, Silas, both in the skiing and pastry departments.

Retirement seems to suit you well!
