Plinko and I took a VERY late 8am start from N. Bend and found not the 2inches forecast over night but 5 inches new and heavy snow. It was heavily snowing that is, the snow was so light that 5-10 inches later (fell in 2 hours) skis were still gliding on the base below. This had to be less that 5% pow. Edelweiss was knee deep in places and the new light and dry was settling and point releasing all over the place. But no slab formation and very small sluffs. Kendell had 5-10 new at the base and 8-15 at the top of the knob. Skied the backside to the new Commonwealth trail head.

Amen and Hallelujah!
My 99mm waist skis just aren't cutting it lately. If we keep getting snow that light, I'm going to have to get some bigger boards!
Thanks for the turns J.! (and the crepes )

That picture is very amusing under the I90. We saw that this morning on the way out to Commonwealth and were joking it must have been some park jibbers, turns out it was you guys making the tracks!
Very good boarding today just further along the ridge from where you were - with the sun this time though!

Love that video -- very creative. Haggis and I went up yesterday, but had a very short fuse. We had planned on the Phantom, but given the huge dumpage decided to skin and ski Alpental instead. It was fun to be out, but the super light on top of the firm heavily skied Alpental base made for a quick ascent but less than ideal skiing. The knob would have been better -- clearly! Couldn't believe how much light fluffy snow fell yesterday am.

Quite nice again nearby today, though south aspects were starting to get some suncrust (so we mostly avoided skiing down them...).
Love the highway turn shot.
