As Mike and I geared up in lot 3, we met up with a sole skier, Erik and his husky dog Meu and invited him to join us.
Fog in Source Lake basin kept the views at bay until a few hundred feet beneath the col. Winds picked up and graupel began to fall as we booted up and within an hour, pockets of blue sky allowed the sun to grace us.
Deep and rather heavy snow made it a bit of work for fancy turns. I was surprised how much snow had fallen since the weekend prior when conditions were crust and ice around Roosevelt.
