Beautiful snow, cool temps, blue sky, and light wind made for a perfect day for us on NE and N aspects. There were around 50 people skiing Table and Mt Herman today on boottop powder on a soft, smooth base. Near the summit of Table there was some variability in the snow due to earlier winds.
One skier triggered a good sized wind slab slide in the Little Alaska region on Table's north side. Luckily he rode down behind the snow and was not buried. He did require helicopter evacuation with a lower leg fracture when he cartwheeled about 300' with one ski failing to release.
Everyone else appeared to be enjoying the weather and excellent turns.
