Plans to head back to Cascade snow this morning from Incline Village were thwarted in Reno last night by an excellent meal of beef medallions in mushroom cream sauce followed by ski base renewal and a hot tub session. Thanks Kam, Allyson, and Nate! Then my early start from Reno to Incline and onward to Seattle was foiled by yet another tire problem that took an hour at Les Schwab.
Finally on the way under blue skies, I stopped at Mt. Rose ski area and learned they were on wind hold until 10. Then winds were supposed to decrease considerably. Our starting point for several tours was fairly calm and a few skiers were preparing to leave. Luckily one with a shovel and beacon agreed to let me join him and we lapped the hourglass run twice.
Views were spectacular, wind minimal, and snow perfect except for a slight wind crust. The warm sun and various wind effects on other aspects convinced me to begin the long drive home after this nice 2.5hr tour. Another tire problem tonight has me wondering if I will get to Crystal in time for a tour tomorrow.
What a great week of exploring Tahoe's Ski Touring Treasures, thanks to several awesome hosts! Many thanks to all.

Boy, retirement sounds tire-ing. Guess I'll just keep working away. Safe travels!
