After many years exploring almost every aspect of Skyline/Heather Ridge I finally made it up to the top of the little rocky summit many people call Skyline Pk above the lake - icy snow made me happy for a chopped handhold left by others on the steep bit. I then descended the other side to the first gully that drops down the north side and took that to the valley floor on 6 inches of pretty nice soft snow over a firm base. I did another run there, then climbed back up for a last run down the SW slopes to the old highway. I wasn't sure what conditions would be like, but it was pretty good too - firm and a bit icy in places, some corny spots where the sun had worked it, a tiny bit of crust in the middle, then corny again at the bottom. All in all fun skiing and a nice change of pace from the cross-country cruising I've been doing with the wife lately. Sorry, no pix since I was solo.
