Both Peter and Holly had to work a full day, so I headed down to visit Ben Shefftz who drove to South Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area last night. Since he had to work a few hours early and then several more after 2pm, we sandwiched in a short tour to Flagpole Peak just southwest of Lake Tahoe. .
We found a variety of conditions: heavy wet powder, sun crust, and even some nice light stuff. Ben's local knowledge helped us find and stay in the best aspects.
Late report today due to flat tire repair in S Lake Tahoe, then a visit with a former co worker who has moved to Carson City including excellent Moroccan stew. Short visit to the local smoke filled casino and to the first settlement in Nevada. The search for remaining pow pockets continues tomorrow.
