Lead a WSTC Trip to Hex Mtn, we had a group nine really nice people. The logging road approach was snow machine packed, but no machines encountered today Ê:) Ê
We accended the hiking trail, which follows the ridgeline, Êoccational sun breaks -- It's nice to be out of the Snoqualmie fog! From the summit we got some partial glimpses of the Stuart range.
On the descent we "short cut" the trail and logging roads to ski the fall line and had some enjoyable turns.
Snow conditions were variable, sun and wind effected in open areas, but nice snow in the trees and on the S edges of clearcuts where trees sheltered the snow from sun and wind.
