Spent Pres. Day weekend up at Rogers Pass and Revelstoke....the Selkirks certainly haven't received as much snow as usual, but when its so freakin' cold, the powder lasts forever and we definitely got some good turns in.
Our first day we skied the Lilly glacier...accessed from the Loop Brook TH¦some of us had been up there a couple years ago when there hadnt been any new snow in about a week and found good powder on the north facing terrain, so we thought this might be a good bet. The weather was clear but really cold and the wind up above treeline had done a fair bit of damage to the snow¦.we found pockets of boot-deep powder but youd still touch down on the old crust below from time to time. It was a good tour, but after staring at LeeLaus pictures all week on TGR, we knew there was better snow to be had somewhere nearby.
