Went up to Paradise for a solo jaunt around Mazama in search of the pow. Found it around the backside and western aspects. Skiing was really good and partly sunny too! Ventured over towards Stevens Canyon/Paradise Glacier area for some recon and skied a little ridge there, was also nice, more like creamy snow than pow though. Pics at link below:

A little beta here - on climbing it anyways.

I agree. It needs some ski tracks.

The straight, narrow chute on the N face of Lane has long been know locally as the 'Zipper'.  It's way past me meager talents, but I've heard tales of 50+ degrees, two ski lengths wide.  Reputedly done quite a few times since at least the 60's by the Whitaker's, guides, & other hotshots.  There's also a brief mention in Lowell's fine NW ski reference:

I skied the coulior on the left about 15 years ago in late spring, on Rosi Nepals with Silvereta 404's and Dynafit tourlite boots. Snow coverage that day was getting thin and there were quite a few rocks embedded in the surface. There was a short down climb about mid way.  There wouldn't have been a need to down climb had I been there a few weeks earlier.  The narrowest spot was about one and ahalf ski lengths. I climbed it directly; to scout the route. Although one could traverse from Plumber Peak and climb up to the east shoulder of Lane.

For what its worth. I hope it helps.
