The Crystal Ski Patrol had no info on skiing/avalanche conditions in Union Creek. We tried it. So did several other parties. By our departure this area was as tracked as I've ever seen it. Lots of untracked lines remain accessible from Bullion Creek, but Union Creek requires a freshening. 6 inches of consistent, mid-density newish on a bomber ice layer with strong bonding. Minor wind slab near ridge top. No avalanche activity. One member of our party was cramping badly, so we passed on the N facing exit from North Peak. This aspect looked wind-hammered.
