Skied Moonlight bowl on Sunday.  As noone skied it on Saturday,I figured we would get some nice freshies on Sunday.  Indeed, an additional 5" overnight made the snow even lighter and deeper than the day before (see Jan 31st)

Pits on s/SE slope at 5100' showed 5" of fresh on 12" of soft consolidated snow over a 2" raincrust.  Shears were easy, but compression was hard to collapse the upper layers.

Skiing was excellent, deep and light.  Several groups were out enjoying the goods.
sounds excellent.  which one is moonlight bowl?

hey ross, moonlight bowl refers to the slopes between the upper cell tower and yodelin.  the nice open runs that take you from the ridge back down to the PCT, up to the stevens lot or down to yodelin.  hope that helps.
