Skied off of Mt. Shasta from Bunny Flat today.  Conditions were warm with a sun breaking through the hazy cloudy layer off and on, enough to give us hope it would soften up.  It got warm enough on Southeast-Southery aspect at around 11:45to 1:30 respectively to be a somewhat consistent corn.  Probably climbed up to around 9800' or so.  Not much snow up there only 2-3 feet maybe 4 in some spots, but enough to ski down without really tagging any rocks although its chocolate mint chip with landmines peppered everywhere.  It got slow and grabby in the flats near the bottom but gave hope of decent skiing to be done.  Things really looked thin, but enough to ski.  The snow probably stayed soft till 2:30 or3:30 depending on what aspect.  Thinking of hitting McLoughlin this weekend with similar temps/aspects and all.  Anyone been up there recently?

I was up there New Years Eve.  There's much better coverage than Shasta.  From the PCT trailhead, just head northwest through the forest.  Things will open up around 6500 feet.  Should be real nice this weekend.
