I went for a short tour on Saturday afternoon up around Skyline Ridge. I just wanted to provide a little beta for consistency for those following the snowpack up on Stevens Pass.
S-facing slopes up to 5200' have a rain crust on them. It's not very breakable, it is skiable, but not very fun-at leat for me ;-).
N-facing slopes above 5000' are fairly soft still, only to 2" below the surface though, where I encountered crust.
It also looked like the pass area has just undergone a failry significant avalanche cycle on S-facing slopes. This observation was backed-up by a patroller I spoke with who mentioned a large slab cutting loose on a S-facing slope somewhere in-bounds.
Hopefully, we get some new snow here pretty soon, and it bonds well with the surface layer.
