In the spirit of urban skiing, a buddy and I headed out after work to get a few turns in. This was my first attempt to convince my alpine skiing friend that going uphill can be fun too, so I let him borrow my AT gear and I was on teles.
We headed out right before dusk from the Anthony's parking lot, and skinned along the boardwalk to Owen Beach (Pt. Defiance in Tacoma). It was a quiet night and very beautiful with the Vashon ferries and city lights out across the water. The parking lot we skied was about a green circle, and the hardpan surface had softened up with the day's sun. The shot is long enough for a few dozen turns (maybe less for freehealers).
When running the five mile drive, going up this hill is probably the worst stretch. BUT, when covered with great snow, this hill is AWESOME!
Unfortunately, the camera I was using was unfamiliar to me, so operator error led to crappy pics.
Happy Holidays everyone...

That's awesome! Way to go, that is a great hill! I had my setup with when I dropped my gf at the zoo yesterday...I almost headed over to play on the sledding hill. Thanks for sharing!
