Another "urban earn-your-turns" reports, this one posted first on http://telemarktalk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=14335:
Lots of lovely snow today, so I got out my rock skis, skied to the grocery store for a warm up, and then yoyo-ed the North side of Queen Anne Hill a half a dozen times, probably totalled 2000' vertical ;D
Hucked off a few kerbs :), and got some air (including "The Little Jump", a fearsome 6", which I stuck with a tele landing).
Conditions were 4" of powder over a very solid base, machine-packed powder in some parts. It was awkward to ski, because any time I tried to pressure the edges, I cut through to the hard surface below, and the skis weren't railing on that at all. It also would have helped if I'd remembered to put my heel lifters down after climbing ???
I thought I was crazy until I saw a guy ride down the hill on a mountain-bike unicycle :D
Skinned back up the hill and straight into my garage afterwards.
