Checking out the Cooper Spur winter trail.
Toured up through the burn area.
Past this hut.
And this hut.
Turned around at 7500 as I lost the blue skies, and the snow was wind scoured. Basically followed the uptrack back, and dealt with the nasty rain crust that was buried 5-10cm most of the way down.
Nice tour, not so nice turns.

Thanks for the post. Where did you park? did you start at the TH or head up through the cooper spur ski area first?
Was thinking about heading up there sat. but opted for newton instead. Good work out skinning but not so good for turns in the trees. A buddie of mine hit the first bowl and said it was good.

Parked at the TH. Went straight in from there. There was a track set, probably from this weekend. Ski penetration was 5-10cm. Skiing should get better with the small amount of snow this afternoon.
