Siri, Anthony, and I left our apartment around 2 under heavy snowfall. The climb up Aloha was steep and grueling. At the intersection with 10th, we had to avoid a strange metalic red icefall traveling rather quickly across the flats. We were perplexed as to its origin. Anthony hypothesized Detroit.
Upon summiting, we circumnavigated the summit plateau before deskinning and starting our descent. Not far below the peak, we found a steep face followed by what appeared to be a man-made mound. Unaware of what danger lay behind the ominous-looking bump, Anthony and I threw caution to the wind and, one at a time, blindly hurled ourselves into the void. It is impossible to describe the thrill. We gritted our teeth and looked death in its face and emerged.... victorious. We were high on life and the remainder of the descent was exhilarating. So exhilarating, in fact, that we descended below base camp, making glorious turns all the way down to Bellevue ave before reskinning and climbing back home, walking through the door by 3 and eating soup by 345.
