I just got back from a dusk X-C (campus) tour of the mighty UW campus. Lacking rock skis, I took my AT setup which was appreciated on the insanely steep and gnarly run from Red Square to the fountain (~10 vertical feet!). Then I skinned past the physics building, back to Red Square, up to 45th, and finally back to my dorm. AT gear kicks and glides amazingly well. ;D ;D
Snow conditions were great, hardpacked in areas, but plenty of untracked, light pow if you want it. Hurry up, the snow might not last long! And watch out for cars.
