With the incoming storm, decided to do a short trip up to Snoqualmie Pass. The winds were howling through North Bend, but died out when we got to the pass. the skin out to Source Lake was a little annoying - lots of brush and creek crossings with barely held together snow bridges - it seemed more like a snowshoe trail than ski trail. The slopes around Source Lake were covered in snow, but you could see big white lumps all over, and creeks valleys were evident, but not much water was showing.
Skied one quick lap. The upper 50' had a light crust that was easily breakable, so once you were turning you could ski right through it. After that it was light, fluffy snow the rest of the way. The ski back required sidestepping a lot and skinning for a while. Thanks to those who put in a real traverse back below Wall Street.
