January 1, 2004, Skyline Rdg,Stevens Pass

After excessive intake of spirits in the Stevens rv lot to welcome the new year ???, I took my first solo foray into the bc.  I followed the road up skyline in mighty wintery conditions,about 20 degrees snowing and blowing. I was soon overtaken by two fellow adventurers (probably not hungover)and followed their track thru some sizable drifts up past skyline lake(thanks).  Here I met up with two more skiers and joined them to head over the ridge,to the glades they had spoken of. The wind was really howling on the north side, so we retreated to the trees. I had decided to return to the lake and ski down when Tim discovered his leather tele boot had delaminated making binding connection challenging. We got him fixed up with a bit of bailing wire and skied down together getting some nice turns in the 12" to 24" of fresh and light.
