IT BE SNOWING! My wife and I with a good friend (JP) headed out to artist point. We were able to skin from the upper parking lot. There was about 1.5ft in the open and maybe 2ft in pockets. Skied the first part of the open traverse out to Ptarmigan ridge. Despite careful maneuvering, we were greeted with a chorus of scrapping sounds. Made a couple laps there and then headed back. The snow was really good though just not quite enough. On the way back I hit a rock hard enough to eject and literally have rock shrapnel stuck in my base. Oops. Great to finally get out. If you go, bring the rock skis.
