Kenny Zeigler and I planned to go to Hurricane Ridge, but as so often happens, Olympic National Park decided they didn't have the wherewithal to keep the road open. Fortunately, this time we had a plan "B" -- Heather Park, reachable from the Heart of the Hills trailhead . We didn't just earn our turns on this trip, we also earned our snow. We climbed about 2000 ft above the trailhead before we hit snow. We were rewarded with about 3 1/2 hours of play in 10 inches of medium weight powder in some 30 degree glades and gullies. High point 5500 ft.
