Jess and I headed up to Muir to look for some cold temps and H2O changing state to the favorable white kind... we weren't disappointed and neither were the 8+ people we saw up there searching for the same. We rose out of the dense fog and came out into a windless sunny white beach.

Dang, I was going to go up there, but didn't. Now I'm really bummed.

Thanks ;)

Good call. Like Jason , I'm kicking myself for not going.

Nice!  That looks like some good stuff...we hit the other side of the park on foot, up to Ipsut.  It was pretty sweet, definitely a good rain shadow - but I would have rather been getting turns!  Nice pics.

I'm heading up with Mack tomorrow. Are you coming?

How is the coverage?
Could you skin from Paradise or did you have to carry skis for part of the way?

Nope, not enough or no snow on the trails. Hiking up on trails to snowfields @~7300' and skinning from there.

Looks good hope tuesday is good to go in the Mount Baker area!

Here's the forcast for 5330 ft. on Heliotrope Ridge:

"... Veterans Day: Snow. High near 36. South wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible. "

I'm guessing that 11 inches of 36 degree snow might be a learning experience!

hey jason
those turns in the first photo are your dad's steve's and mine
cheers
