As the Mountain was out this morning, our expectations were for good weather and getting above Pan Point for the first time this season. Didn't happen with a persistent cloud/fog layer with its base at ~ 6000'. Too bad as skiing conditions were improving with elevation. We found an inch of wet new on a wetish base, light winds, relatively warm temperatures(above freezing by mid-afternoon at 5100'). At the foot of Pan Point we bailed to fool about on Mazama Ridge (including a flat-light Back Bowl run). Gate was open at 9 am. No recent avalanche activity.
