December 11, 2003, Paradise Areaq

Another day in Paradise! Gate openend right after 9:00. Sunny and calm at Paradise, so Gary, Lori and I decided on Cowlitz Rocks. About 12" new, so the trailbreaking was slow. By the time we reached Sluiskin Falls it was totally socked in again. Waited around a while for sun which didn't happen, so skied down lower to have trees for reference. Higher up, on the flatter terrain, snow was crusty and somewhat heavy, but good powder lower down. By the time we had to leave, the sun came out! Gary and I skied down Devil's Dip which was disappointing. Though the snow very deep, it's not filled in enough, had to slog downhill in the deep, narrow channel of the summer trail. Further down, from road to Narrada Falls, not enough coverage for safe and good skiing, same goes for the Face, though we did see a track down.
