8-31-08, Vesper Peak Patch

Nothing like waiting till the last day of the month, oh well.  Khahn, Damien, Joe, and I got an early start for this monster of a mountain  :)  Got to 3,000 feet and the beginning of what turned out to be a 660' vertical snowpatch about 45 minutes from the car.  This patch will last through September for sure.  Stashed the skis at the top of it and continued in the fog to the top of Vesper.  Nice hike with very limited views.  Probably cleared up later in the day.  Quick hike down to our lovely patch filled with nice suncups, rocks, trees, and branches.  Anyways, good to feel the snow under the boards again.
