I headed up to Camp Muir today to see what the recent storm had brought. From what I can tell, most of the snow that fell was scoured right off of the mountain by high winds. However, the snow that did stick seems to have smoothed out the upper snowfield.

After sitting around at Muir for a couple of hours I headed down at about 11:30. Excellent turns on the upper snowfield. Silky smooth. Down low the new snow started to get slow so I began seeking out older snow patches showing through the new dust to work my way down. Snow still nearly continuous to Pebble Creek. (maybe 300VF short)
We were in the "neighborhood" yesterday too.  Good job and a beautiful day to be up on the hill.  :)

I think we met near Pebble Creek. I was going up, you were coming down. Hi again.

The snow was no doubt heavier for me a few hours later, but also tons of fun--an interesting project, linking shallow patches of white near the top, and avoiding them near the bottom.
So nice to be out in fresh snow, even if it's scattered about.
