WA Cascades West Slopes South (Mt Rainier)

About 8 inches of nice new & snowing, but lots of crust beneath the snow--light zippable in the back bowl and big time breakable on the slopes above Paradise Valley Road. The Steep south-facing slope in the back bowl had a major avalanche--big chunky debris beneath the snow in the gully above the trees and just below where people normally stop turning when coming down the more gentle slopes.
