John and I completed a box-checking exercise on 8/7/08.  We skied a small patch (100ft) of snow on Lower International at Alpental.  The snow was soft and littered with twigs and dirt.

For the video see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keWNZo8lV6k

Those pictures demonstrate the sort of irresponsible skiing that gives the sport a bad reputation.  No avy beacons, no shovels, no probes...  The risks you're taking are insane!

;D

I was up that way a week ago; it looked like Upper I was much better connected.  Did you try heading up further, or has it melted out?

We didn't get a chance to take a look.  John was moving upslope under the influence of a brew named after a local mountain and I had to pick the kids up from daycare so we had to resign ourselves to the  little slice of heaven lower down.

Dedication. That's all that can be said

I agree with Hedgie---shouldn't you be wearing gloves when skiing in a talus field?!?!  ::)
