    Turns are still decent here. I took a pole measurement and found I was skiin' on four inches of soft slush. With the summer temps. in progress, it hasn't been freezing at night so it is real nice.
    It's a bit of work as cramponing up a 35 - 40 degree slope is kinda strenuous. I'm still not 50 years of age so I'm gettin' it done. It would be nice if I had someone else helpin' with the bootpack. (And not that 50 has a limit) !!
      It's pretty neat the fact there are no glaciers on Lassen and the annual snowpack is able to persist thru July in the 'Main Chute' that I'm workin' with.
      A couple of tidbits: I've seen the same two young deer down in the meadow as I'm drivin' up. There was a bigger one on the trail under a tree - scared the heck out of the both of us. The mountain pride flower, and the flower unique to just Lassen are in full bloom - just adding to the beauty.
