Conditions Zig Zag Glacier, Mt Hood?
« on: 07/11/08, 02:07 PM »

Has anyone been up to Zig Zag lately?  I'm thinking about going on Monday and I'm wondering if it's in good shape.

I was out Zigzag way on the 6th and it appeared to have excellent coverage.  We didn't really get too far out onto the glacier proper, but there is so much snow that you can't really distinguish what is the glacier and what isn't.  We headed down around noon and the snow was smooth and fast; very enjoyable turns.  I would venture to say that it is well worth checking out.

We were up there today and the snow was really nice.  Coverage is great and the snow is really smooth and clean.

A good amount of vertical can be had if you are willing to walk back up to get back to T-line.

Just got back from Zig Zag and I'm really impressed.  There is a ton of snow up there with very smooth, clean conditions.  I'll write up a TR with pictures in the next couple of days.
