Wet. Mist. Rain. Occasional blue holes. Not too many runs to be had near Sunrise. BUT, we did get to ski through a rainbow!  ;D

We hiked with non-skiing spouses out to the Burroughs thinking there would be a run down the N side into Berkeley Park from the N end, but the only continuous line we saw looked like it was a rock shooting gallery. Better was on the south east facing slopes. We had a 500 VF run starting from 7200' on 2nd Burroughs, where the sun starting coming out enough to make a nice rainbow over our path. Booted back up to the ridge, and had another run on east side at the triple trail junction, and took that on down to Shadow Lake, then up to the road and out. Snow was better higher, more sun cupped and runneled lower, all very stable, and fine to be out on it in July. We left red tracks, from the algae under the surface. Yellow wax or maybe Rain-X.

NPS rangers and volunteers out numbered the visitors at 5:30 at Sunrise.
Hi Don. For some reason the weather seemed a little better over on the Frying Pan. Maybe you were intercepting the rain showers for me!

Hi, Andy. We almost crossed paths. You certainly got in more skiing. Too bad we didn't meet -- we would have invited you to a good fire and supper at WR CG in the camper. Fine dining when the other halves are along!

Sounded like like some good turns for a Hikefest.  Did it rain much in the evening/night?

Not hard, but most of the night. We were warm and dry.  I see you made it to Baker and worked for some good turns, too!
