I hooked up with Sam from VT for Sam's PNW trip swan song. Sam and I skied down from a notch on the Snow Lake divide on Saturday, then camped at the Esmeralda TH Saturday night, where we ran into Ryan (sp?) from Ellensburg, who joined us on Sunday.
Our buddies Brian and Shawn met us at the TH, informing us that the 3 guys had been found near Crystal. Sam correctly surmised that the group organized by Scotsman had found them. Sam had good things to say about his outings with Scotsman and Joedabaker early in is PNW trip.
We packed rock gear with the intention of climbing the S ridge (slab route) on Ingalls. At Ingall's Pass we saw that the route was engulfed in clouds, so we skinned up to Fortune, hung around the summit for awhile and then skied down the SE bowl c. 1400 feet. No pics here -- look for Sam's post after he returns to VT tonight.
Fun outing, good company.
I won't clutter the missing snowboarder thread, and I'll instead praise the efforts of Scotsman, et. al. here.
