Original plans failed...so a last minute dash over the crest was had. There were only two other cars at the esmeralda trailhead so we never saw a soul...nice weather with a couple inches of wind packed pow up top. This area will be gone soon.

Fun day for sure!  Told you I could get that camera of yours to focus!

After us bailing on the pass and turning up home some 4 hrs later than originally stated, there was some silence in the house last night - worth it for great June turns though...

Thinking of skiing into Ingalls next weekend weather permitting. Is the road melted out to the Ingalls trial head?

Thanks for info
greg

Its melted way past the trailhead.  Only a small bit of snow left in the trees but the bowls and Ingalls are still good.  Requires a hike to get to the snow.  We got most of the way down on snow with carefull route selection but that will be gone in the next few days.

Looks like pure bliss...nice!

You picked the right spot, Spicoli.  We skied Fortune SE Bowl yesterday.  Lots of coverage up there for early June.  We skied directly off the Fortune E ridge, down the bowl, across the creek (skier's left) and down through the trees to c. 5300' before booting.  The bowl should ski for another couple weeks, maybe longer if the cool temps persist.
