A 2:30 am departure from Seattle and drizzle on the road to Paradise had me thinking about bed. But the drizzle stopped as we skinned up in the twilight and the clouds cleared around Pan Point. Rainer was stunning and crystal clear in the early light. No clouds above us, no wind, and not a soul in sight.
We left Camp Muir around 10, clouds moving in from below.
Excellent snow for the big GS run to Pan.
Then fog, huge crowds working their way up and slurpy-slush the rest of the way down.
Just another great morning in the NW sun.
2 june: foggy, an inch or two of new over 6 inches of mush; when I got to Pan Pt everything was clear; when I got to McClure Rock, I could barely see my hand in front of my face; waited a while; it didn't change (probably did later in the day) so I skied down in the mush.

4 June, deja vu, except I never did see any clearing
