Skied the bottom end of the "birthday tour" -- with clouds dragging over the tops of Liberty Bell four of us from the WSTC opted to ski from the hairpin backwards up the "birthday tour" route. We stayed below the cloud deck and had some decent turns. Got a few sunbreaks and views south from the pass at 6700.
We skied from the hairpin to the knob (c. 7150') SW of Kangaroo Pass. We may have seen you. Our trip was a bailout after aborting our plans to do the Lyall Glacier (remnant) route from Rainy Pass. The clouds were penetrating through to Roo Pass, but no rain. Plenty of snow up there.
We saw three skiers descending the rib just to the north of the tarn as we were climbing to the 6700ft pass -- I heard some hooting and hollering -- so it sounded like you were enjoying the snow.

That was us, in all likelihood. Hope we didn't make too much noise.
Big Steve-
wondering what Kangaroo pass looked like and if it will be skiable for the next two weeks?
Is it a worthwhile area to consider skiing for the near future?

Lots of snow up there. We figured that the Birthday Tour should go for the next couple weeks, maybe longer. But this warm rain might accelerate the demise of the snowpack.
