I've been thwarted on this trip idea a few times over the last few years, so finally did it on what I thought might be my last run of the year at Alpental.

It turns out that it's a pretty reasonable afternoon tour, be it that there are a few sporty descent sections (I wouldn't drop out of Edelweiss pass without knowing exactly where you are going due to large cliffs) when it is icey like it was. I also wonder how it would be if there wasn't soo much snow.

That said, I think I calculated via map something like 2,800 vert of uphill and ~6,400 of downhill (maybe 1,000 without snow)... which is reasonable slackcountry to me...

No pictures due to bad weather. PM me anytime if you want details.

Conditions were icey down to maybe 3,800 feet, with some good sections of porn in places (powder on top of unfrozen corn).
