Turns All Year year-round backcountry skiing and telemark skiing in Washington
West Cady Ridge, North Cascades, Washington |
| Located in the North Cascades of Washington, West Cady Ridge is a green-to-white backcountry skiing tour which begins in the valley bottom and climbs through old-growth forest to a low saddle, and then up onto the open 5-mile ridge which culminates at Benchmark Mountain. Backcountry skiing runs are possible at many places along West Cady Ridge, and the tour is well-suited for waxless telemark skiing equipment. Benchmark Mountain affords a 360 degree view, including the Monte Cristo range, Sloan Peak, Glacier Peak, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, and the north and central Cascade Mountains. The photos in this gallery are from telemark skiing trips to West Cady Ridge in May and June. |
